..and how your heatwave ran
Through our snow black fields
- The Stills “Helicopters”
I told you about the Stills (whoa, checkout the myspace change) last week; free show at The Distillery District for a Lexus event. There was a great event beforehand hosted by Rock-It Promotions, which gave a chance for everyone to hang out and enjoy some great local beers before the show. I was running late after work, but was glad to grab a pint with some of the twitter folk to catch up. It was cool, as it felt like a bar venue but outside, and a bit more spread out. There were Lexus cars parked along the cobblestone, which made for a cool contrast. But mainly, it was really great to see a luxury brand so heavily engaged with those who are their future target demographic. NotableTV did a great job reaching out to bloggers and getting them to hype up and attend the event. They have a great wrap-up of the entire weekend (and a video to make you drool over the Lexus) and while you are over there, make sure you subscribe to their mailing list — they just gave free Stella Artois pouring kits to those who do! Overall, there was a lot of people talking about the event, days prior and days after.
The Stills show itself was perfectly balanced. I heard enough of the older songs to keep me entertained, and dancing, including one of my favourite, Helicopters.
Sean Ward did a wicked job taking video of the entire night, and I make a cameo in it (as does my friend Andrea). Watch.
